I've been notified that prices for cruises this summer will increase on 2 MARCH 2010.  If you are thinking about a cruise this summer get your deposit down now!  Deposits are fully refundable up to 90 days before the cruise date.  That way you can beat the price increase!

With the temperatures  cold in the Pensacola Area and even a sprinkel of snow falling makes me long for warmer days!  I recently spent 5 fabulous days in Mexico on a Carnival Cruise out of Mobile and the weather was fantastsic.  Now is the time to book your 2010 and 2011 vacations while prices are still low and space is available.  The future looks like there will be an increase in prices all round.  Procrastnaors will miss out by not acting.  Generally speaking you can put your refundable deposit down now and not have to pay the balances until 91 days before your actual departure date.

  • FANTASY 5 DEC 2009 CRUISE

Were back!  What a great time we had aboard the FANTASY out of Mobile 5-10 December 2009.  All 111 of us who departed from Mobile on this 5 day cruise to Progresso and Cozumel, Mexico were treated to great food and entrtainment along with a very smooth trip and great weather, once we left Mobile.  When we arrived in Progresso a bunch of us took a bus excusion to Merida.  The excursion toured all the old buildings  and sights in the area.  Merida is a very clean old city with a great big Cathedral, which was quite impressive, and the shopping was great.  We found a quaint bistro to relax at and had a chat with the locals (all very friendly).  The next day we arrived in Cozumel, which has been renovated and is the shopping meca of Mexico.   Nice weather this time of the year.  The piers in cozumel have been modernized and quite nice with great resturants and watering holes.  Pleasant entertainment and more shopping...  All in all we had a great trip both ashore and at sea.  Disembarcation process has improved measureably and was a breeze.  With the ship so close to us and at the current pricing, this is a must.  Will have to do this one again!

  • SAFETY TIPS WHILE VACATIONING IN THE CARIBBEAN

11/30/20097:05:11 PM Link 0 comments | Add comment

Due to recent incidents that have happened in the Caribbean to tourists, one of our Vacation Planners (Bill Castellano) wrote the following article.

This applies to all travel; be it on a cruise ship, or for an in country resort vacation.

There has been a noticeable increase in criminal activity in both the Bahamas and in Jamaican ports of call.  In Nassau alone tourists were robbed at gunpoint while on a Segway excursion from the ship (some cruise lines have removed this excursion from their itinerary).  In a similar incident, eleven passengers were robbed near the Queen's Staircase attraction, also at gun point.  Such statistics warrant a search on line to see just how much armed robbery, theft and violence is happening in Nassau these days.  As a noted fact, a cruise shore excursion group on a plantation ride in Jamaica was robbed by gun toting bandits.  Today you can still take the excursion.

The bottom line is that you must be on guard wherever you go.  To minimize the chance of being a victim, make it a practive to only carry what you can affort to loose.  Carry one credit card and leave the others behind.  Wear a cheap watch and never wear Jewelry.  Carry a photo copy of your passport, another government photo ID and a minimum amount of cash budgeted for that day.  Don't temp the thieves with fat, protruding wallets, gaping pockets and purses under chairs.  By going out looking flashy, you are sending a signal that you're worth the extra effort.  They're guessing you'll have more cash than the other guy.

It's not all gloom and doom.  The Caribbean is a wonderful cruising and vacation venue, but you have to remain smart to be safe.
